Who Should Get This Bundle
Color Vowel® Level 1 Certification means that you have mastered the fundamental whys and hows of the Color Vowel® Approach to teaching spoken English and pronunciation. Completion of this certification is required for enrollment in most of our Level 2 courses and practicums.
You can complete the on-demand Basics course prior to your Level 1 Practicum or you can complete them at the same time.
Non-native English-speaking teachers should have high intermediate or advanced skills. Those who wish to improve their own pronunciation and sound awareness are encouraged to enroll in Speak Confidently!
You should take these Level 1 courses if you want to:

Director, ELTS
Karen Taylor co-founded ELTS in 2011 in response to a popular demand for the Color Vowel® Chart, a teaching tool she created in 1999. She holds an MA in TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and a BA in English Literature from Georgetown University, as well as an International Baccalaureate from the United World College (US campus). A former Fulbright TEFL Specialist, Karen was the Practitioner in Residence at American University for nine years. She received Ed Tech’s 2020 Visionary Leader award for her work as Head of Education at Blue Canoe Learning Inc.

No, it's not required. However, we recommend it. The Level 1 Practicum is an intensive course, and watching the Basics videos in advance will make the course more manageable for busy teachers.
No. The Practicum is designed as a live, interactive course. Participants are allowed one absence.
We offer the Level 1 Practicum several times a year. If your schedule changes after purchasing the bundle, we will be happy to move your enrollment to another course.
Purchase the Level 1 Practicum course. You do not need the bundle. Your Basics course will be reactivated when you purchase the Practicum.
