Who Should Get This Bundle
Color Vowel® Level 1 Certification means that you have mastered the fundamental whys and hows of the Color Vowel® Approach to teaching spoken English and pronunciation. Completion of this certification is required is for enrollment in most of our Level 2 courses and practicums.
You can complete the on-demand Basics course prior to your Level 1 Practicum or you can complete them at the same time.
Non-native English-speaking teachers should have high intermediate or advanced skills. Those who wish to improve their own pronunciation and sound awareness are encouraged to enroll in Speak Confidently!

Karen Taylor
Director, ELTS
Karen Taylor co-founded ELTS in 2011 in response to a popular demand for the Color Vowel® Chart, a teaching tool she created in 1999. She holds an MA in TESOL from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and a BA in English Literature from Georgetown University, as well as an International Baccalaureate from the United World College (US campus). A former Fulbright TEFL Specialist, Karen was the Practitioner in Residence at American University for nine years. She received Ed Tech’s 2020 Visionary Leader award for her work as Head of Education at Blue Canoe Learning Inc.
Gemma Archer
Color Vowel® Level 3 Trainee
Gemma Archer has been an English language teacher for 18 years, working in the UK, Ireland, Italy, and the Middle East. Currently, she is an EAP teacher and programme co-ordinator in the English language unit at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, in her home country, Scotland. She is editor of the IATEFL Pronunciation Special Interest Group’s bi-annual journal ‘Speak Out!’ and is joint SIG coordinator. She uses the Color Vowel® Approach with international Postgraduate students who want to communicate their research more confidently and intelligibly with others, and to explain the rich diversity of Englishes in their new linguistic environment.

No, you don't! The Practicum course is designed so that each week's live session is based on one of the modules in the Basics. Each week you watch OR review a module in Basics to prepare for the live Practicum session.
The Practicum is designed as a live interactive course where you build sound awareness and practice classroom techniques. Participants are allowed one absence but asynchronous attendance is not usually appropriate for this course.
We have a new cohort of the Practicum starting almost every month. We vary the day of the week and the time to accommodate a variety of schedules and timezones around the world. If your schedule changes after purchasing the bundle, we will be happy to move your enrollment to another cohort this year.
